Zion National Park is just 30 minutes north of Saint George and is one of the most famous national parks in the world. This time of year is a great time to visit this amazing national park. The crowds are minimal, the weather is mild, and the snow on the red rocks can create some beautiful scenery. Take some time on your next Saint George winter vacation to explore Zion National Park.
Snow Canyon State Park is just up the road a few minutes from the Saint George River Home. This state park has some great red rock formations and volcanic black rock. Groups staying at the River Home on a Saint George winter vacation will enjoy hiking around the petrified sand dunes, white rocks amphitheater, and lava tubes in Snow Canyon State Park. There are also some great canyons to explore such as Johnson Canyon and Jenny’s Canyon.
Red Cliff’s National Recreation Area is an amazing area just north of Saint George that has some great red rock formations and slot canyons. There are lots of hiking trails and some historic areas to see during the winter months. Sand Hollow State Park is northeast of Saint George about 20 minutes and is a great recreation area for families that enjoy ATV and UTV riding. The sand dunes and trails in this state park are fun for the whole family and it is a fantastic place to spend a few days riding on the sand dunes and playing with your family.
