The winter season is a wonderful time of year to spend a week or two in Saint George. The weather is mild and the outdoor recreation is abundant. In this blog we will share some of our favorite recreation activities around Saint George in the winter months.
Zion National Park is beautiful any month of the year, but winter is an especially amazing time to visit this spectacular national park. During the winter months the crowds have died down and there are much fewer people and easier to get access to this amazing national park without the crowds. The winter months also offer great opportunities for amazing views and stunning photographs. Families that enjoy national parks will love Zion National Park in the winter and will find some of the most beautiful views of the year when there is a blanket of white snow on the red rock canyons and formations in the park. The contrast of the white snow on the red rock formations create some of the most magnificant views you can experience in the southwestern United States.
The mild winter weather in Saint George allows rock climbing, mountain biking, and hiking year-round. Snow Canyon State Park is just down the road from the Saint George River Home and is one of the most beautiful areas around Saint George for families to hike, mountain bike, and rock climbing during the winter months. Families will enjoy exploring this beautiful state park and the variety of hiking and biking trails offers easy trails for families with small children and more difficult trails for those families that are up for an all day adventure.
Swimming is a great activity for families to enjoy during the winter months and the Saint George River Home has both an indoor and outdoor pool for families to swim and play in the water. The large in-ground hot tub is also amazing for families to relax and soak in during the winter months when your family is enjoying Saint George recreation during the winter.
The Saint George area has many parks and golf courses. Families with small children will enjoy the many parks in the area and find a park that fits their family. Families that enjoy golfing will enjoy the many great golf courses in the area. The Copper Rock Golf Course in Hurricane and Black Rock Golf Course in Ivins are two of our favorite courses to golf.
