Saint George is beautiful during the fall months. From September to December the weather is just about perfect and the outdoor recreation areas are much quieter during the fall months. The fall months are a great time of year to be in Saint George enjoying this gorgeous area with your family. Families that love Snow Canyon State Park and Zion National Park enjoy gathering this time of year in Saint George and playing in this beautiful national and state recreation areas in the Saint George area. In this blog we will share some of our favorite outdoor recreation areas near Saint George.

Snow Canyon State Park is just up the road from the Saint George River Home and is one of the most beautiful state parks in Utah. It has beautiful rock formations and views of the Pine Valley Mountains. Snow Canyon State Park is a great area for families with children to spend time explore and playing on the rock formations. There are also some great mountain biking trails around the park and rock climbing areas for families with older children. It is one of our favorite areas to spend time hiking, biking, taking a drive, or just relaxing and enjoying the gorgeous views.

Zion National Park is one of the most famous national parks in the United States for good reason. It can be very busy during the summer months, but during the fall months it is much less busy. Zion National Park has some very famous hikes such as Angel’s Landing and the Subway, but there are many areas of this national park that are much less famous and are just as beautiful. The fall months are a wonderful time to be in Zion National Park due to the beautiful fall colors, the mild weather, and the smaller crowds. We highly recommend visiting Zion National Park during the fall months.

There are other great areas around Saint George for families to enjoy during the fall months. Red Cliffs National Recreation Area and Sand Hollow State Park are two other areas that we love to spend time during the fall. Sand Hollow State Park has some great sand dunes for driving OHVs and ATVs and playing in the sand. There is also a great lake for playing in the water and boating. Red Cliffs National Recreation Area has some great trails for hiking and exploring and some picnic areas for having a picnic with your family among the red rock cliffs.

We hope to see your family this fall at the Saint George River Home for a Saint George fall vacation!
